Gettysburg Medical Center Foundation wants to thank Betty and Ralph Holzwarth for being our hosts for the first Ice Tea event. The Ice Tea event was sponsored by Gettysburg Medical Center and GMC Foundation. The original date for the event was the first day of summer, June 21st. However, due to torrential rains and water issues in town, the event was postponed due to a large number of guests who were unable to attend.
The alternate date was July 7th and it turned out to be a beautiful evening. Nine people attended the informal function. Mark Schmidt, Executive Director at Gettysburg Medical Center, shared his vision for the future of the facility and how the work of GMC Foundation ties into that vision.
Schmidt says, “Health care continues to change and we will see changes in Gettysburg. We strive to provide the most advanced care we can; through programs like e-Emergency we can enhance the care we give and help patients and families make decisions about care more quickly. GMC Foundation works with us to help secure funding for these types of programs, ensuring quality care in our area.”
We are planning other Ice Tea events through out the summer. We are looking for additional hosts and would love to invite your friends and family. This is not a fundraising event; we simply want to inform people in our community of the work being done by GMC Foundation. Your support of Gettysburg Medical Center Foundation goes to work in your community. The money raised in Gettysburg, stays in Gettysburg.
